Black Stars player Christian Atsu Twasam is 25 years old today, Tuesday 10 January 2017.
The winger plays for English club Newcastle United, where he is on loan from Chelsea, and Ghana.
He began his career with FC Porto and also spent a season on loan at Rio Ave. In 2013 he was signed by Chelsea for £3.5 million. He has since been loaned to Vitesse Arnhem, Everton, Bournemouth, and Málaga.
Atsu has made 42 international appearances for the Black Stars since his debut in 2012 and represented Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He helped Ghana finish as silver medallists at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, in which he also won Player of the Tournament and Goal of the Tournament awards.
He will be part of Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2017 Nations Cup to be hosted in Gabon which kick off on Saturday January 14.
His club Newcastle and some teammates at the Black Stars camp took to Twitter to wish him well.
