Government has terminated the appointment of the Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Mr Samuel Kwadwo Sarpong.

In a letter cited by ClassFMonline.com signed on Tuesday, 10th October, secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo, indicated that: “Reference is made to your appointment letter dated 11th February, 2013, appointing you as the Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission that took effect from 10th December, 2012.”

The letter said: “In accordance with paragraph 7 of the said letter, your appointment is hereby terminated.”

Mr Sarpong is to hand over to Ms Mami Dufie Ofori and proceed to collect three months’ salary in lieu of notice.

The letter emphasised that Mr Sarpong should ensure that he hands over and “cease to act as Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission no later than close of business on Friday, 13th October, 2017.

“The President thanks you for your service to the nation and extends his best wishes,” the letter added.
