VGMA 2018: Ebony is Artiste of the year

The late Ebony Reigns has emerged Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) for 2018.

Ebony known privately as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng despite her demise shrugged off competition from last year’s winner Joe Mettle, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy to scoop the most treasured award at the event.

Ebony died at age 21 in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road while returning to Accra from Sunyani on Thursday, 8 February 2018.

Ebony also won the Afro Pop Song of the Year and Album of the Year.

Held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the biggest show on the entertainment calendar was hosted by Television presenter Berla Mundi and actor John Dumelo.

There were performances from Joe Mettle, Kelvin boy, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Kidi, Fancy Gadam, Kwesi Arthur, Mzvee, Akosua Agyapong, Adina,Tiwa Savage from Nigeria and Nasty C from South Africa.
