Chairman of the MTN FA Cup committee, Kurt Okrako, has revealed that all teams that are playing in the round of 64 of the ongoing MTN FA cup tournament will each receive an amount of GHS1500.
The committee held the draw for the round of 64 matches at the Ghana Football Association Secretariat on Tuesday, 15 May.
Delivering an address before the commencement of the draw, Mr Okraku announced that this year, all 64 teams competing in the round of 64 will receive GHS1,500 as basic fee as well as something on the side for transportation.
“Each of the 64 clubs will receive GHS1,500 as basic fee, plus a top-up for transport”, he said.
He explained that clubs travelling from home will be given the support to cater for their transportation.
Apart from the financial support, he added that the teams will be receiving GHS500 worth of airtime from the headline sponsors MTN, while the Most Valuable Players (MVP) of those 64 matches will receive GHS 100 worth of airtime.
At this stage of the competition, 16 premier league teams are being joined by clubs from the division one and division two sides who started the journey a few weeks ago via the preliminary round of the competition.
All of the scheduled matches will be honoured between 24 and 27 May 2018.
