Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged Muslims to pray for the country and its leaders as they embark on the annual 30-day fasting and prayer period, Ramadan.

“Let us also use this sacred period to pray fervently for our dear country Ghana, it’s leadership, ourselves, family members as well as our friends; both Muslims and non-Muslims,” he said in a well-wishing message to Muslims on Wednesday, 16 May 2018.

He added that Ramadan is a period of introspection, sacrifice, endurance and great commitment towards the Almighty Allah.

“It is also a period which draws us closer to our maker, and I urge all fellow Muslims to seize this opportunity and rededicate ourselves towards the Almighty Allah,” he concluded.

The Bawumias will be joining Muslims in Ghana and across the globe to participate in the spiritual exercise which precedes the festival of Eid al-Fitr.
