BoG Governor assures Council of State of commitment to Cedi stability
Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson P. Asiama, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, led a high-level delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Council of State.
The team was warmly received by the Chairman of the Council, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho.
Dr. Asiama expressed the central bank’s gratitude for the reception, noting that the visit formed part of his broader effort to strengthen engagement and consultation with key governance institutions.
He reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to maintaining the stability of the Ghanaian Cedi and sustaining adequate reserve buffers to support economic resilience.
The Governor also commended the Council for its continued guidance and revealed plans to hold bi-annual engagements to solicit feedback and enhance collaboration.
Council Chairman, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, thanked Dr. Asiama and his delegation for the gesture, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding the nation’s economy.
“Our economy is fragile and requires sacrifices, but I’m happy to see our efforts yielding results,” he said.
The meeting marks a renewed chapter of cooperation between the central bank and the Council of State as Ghana continues to navigate its economic recovery path.
