Dzata Cement exposes counterfeit bags, assures customers of quality

Dzata Cement has dismissed reports linking the company to a viral video showing alleged substandard cement packaged in its branded bags, clarifying that the products in the video were counterfeit.
In a public statement, the company explained that fraudsters had been tampering with its packaging by opening genuine Dzata Cement bags, replacing the contents with inferior cement, and then resealing them for resale.
“This is not an issue unique to Dzata Cement. Counterfeiting and bag tampering have long plagued the cement industry in Ghana.
What sets us apart is our swift action: with the support of law enforcement, the culprits have already been apprehended and investigations are ongoing,” the statement read.
Dzata Cement assured customers that its production quality remains uncompromised, stressing that all cement leaving its factory undergoes rigorous quality control.
The company emphasised that the problem lies with criminal tampering in the supply chain, not with its manufacturing process.
To protect consumers, Dzata urged buyers to purchase its products only from authorised distributors and retailers and to report suspicious or tampered bags through its hotline: +233 24 194 1846.
Managing Director Nafisa Mahama reaffirmed the company’s commitment to safeguarding customer trust and industry standards.
“We remain committed to delivering the highest-quality cement, proudly made in Ghana, while fighting against fraud that hurts customers and the industry at large,” she said.
