The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, on Wednesday hosted the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States Embassy in Ghana, Mr. Rolf Olson, for discussions aimed at strengthening commercial cooperation and expanding U.S. investment in Ghana.

The meeting, held at the GIPC office in Accra, focused on enhancing bilateral trade and identifying fresh opportunities for American businesses across key sectors of the Ghanaian economy.

Mr. Madjie outlined Ghana’s economic transition from stabilisation to growth, highlighting priority areas for investment, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy, digital services, and infrastructure.

He further emphasised government plans to boost agro-processing, promote technology transfer, and advance major energy initiatives such as the proposed second gas-processing plant, noting that these projects present significant prospects for U.S. investors.

Discussions also touched on the proposed Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) Bill currently before Parliament, which seeks to strengthen investor protections and broaden the operational mandate of the GIPC to create a more competitive and investor-friendly environment.

Mr. Olson, accompanied by Mr. Raimonds Pavlovskis and Madam Laurie Kelleher, welcomed the reforms and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to deepening commercial engagement with Ghana.
