Juliana Gharbin: Ghana’s creative arts shine as bead artist sets Guinness World Record
Ghana’s creative arts sector has earned international recognition following a Guinness World Record (GWR) achievement by bead artist Juliana Gharbin, a feat the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA), Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has described as a significant milestone for the country.
Ms Gharbin secured global acclaim after creating the world’s largest beaded bag sculpture, a monumental piece that incorporates Ghana’s national colours and Adinkra symbols representing resilience, loyalty and excellence.

In a Facebook statement, the minister commended the artist for showcasing Ghanaian creativity and craftsmanship on the world stage, noting that the accomplishment reflects the depth of talent within the country’s cultural and creative industries.
She said the record not only celebrates local artistic innovation but also strengthens Ghana’s cultural diplomacy and enhances the nation’s international visibility.
According to the minister, the Ministry will collaborate further with Ms Gharbin and her creative team to leverage the achievement as a tool for tourism development and cultural promotion, positioning Ghana as a hub for authentic African art and heritage.
