Veteran broadcaster and Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean, Kwesi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as KKD, has revealed the advice from his uncle that influenced his decision to marry at a relatively young age.

Speaking during an interview on Power FM, excerpts of which surfaced online on June 7, 2026, KKD explained that a conversation with his uncle played a major role in shaping his views on marriage and relationships.

According to him, his uncle advised him not to delay marriage, even though he was not financially established at the time. The advice was based on the belief that success and wealth would attract even more attention from women in the future, making it more difficult to settle down.

"I hope everyone is blessed with a good marriage.

I decided to marry early because of advice my uncle gave me.

He told me that even though I didn't have money at the time, women were still interested in me," KKD recounted.

He further explained that his uncle warned him that once he became successful, even more women would come into his life.

"He said that when I eventually became successful, even more women would come around.

But if I waited too long to settle down, other men would have been with the woman who would eventually become my wife. When I thought about it, I realised there was some truth in what he was saying," he added.

KKD's remarks have since sparked discussions on social media, with many users sharing varying opinions on marriage and the ideal time to settle down.

While some agreed with his perspective and praised the wisdom behind his uncle's advice, others argued that there is no perfect age or timeline for marriage and that waiting longer does not necessarily determine the success of a future relationship.
