King Ayisoba makes a case for a diplomatic passport
Singer King Ayisoba has made a case for deserving a diplomatic passport, as five of his colleagues in creative arts have recently.
Afro-Roots Reggae originator Rocky Dawuni, media personalities Dentaa Amoateng and Anita Erskine, YouTuber Wode Maya, and visual artist Ibrahim Mahama were presented with diplomatic passports on October 2, 2025, in acknowledgment of "efforts made by these individuals through their arts to promote the image of Ghana and urged them to continue to uphold the good name of the country," according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Speaking to Kafui Dei in a clip shared via Dei's X, Ayisoba remarked, "I cannot say they don't deserve it. They have worked hard."
He underlined how singer and record producer Dawuni had been recognised internationally for his work.
"Rocky Dawuni has done great work. He's been nominated several times for a Grammy. He deserves the diplomatic passport," Ayisoba said.
The kologo-wielding musician argued he had equally been hard at work to promote Ghana, and deserved a diplomatic passport, being an internationally renowned custodian of the country's music.
"But I hope... They should also think about me because if you look at the Ghana music tradition, if they want to be honest, I am certainly one of its key promoters," he said.
King Ayisoba highlighted he was very good friends with President John Mahama, too.
He said it was common for the president to see him and say, "King, come to the house."
He was bemoaned since Mahama became president, however, he had gone to his house "about ten times and not been able to meet him.
"Meanwhile, the man likes me and invites me to come home always."
He put this oddity down to some individuals around the president who were obstructing him.
"We are brothers. I know his house in Bole. We are family now. But the people around him don't connect me to get to him," Ayisoba said.
"I hope I receive a diplomatic passport, too," the singer said, returning to the primary topic, for emphasises.
