Omenaa Mensah: Ghanaian-Polish philanthropist receives Global Woman of Impact Award at Super Bowl charity event
Ghanaian-Polish philanthropist Omenaa Mensah, founder of TOP CHARITY has been honoured with the Global Woman of Impact Award by Off The Field at the Super Bowl Charity Fashion Show in San Francisco, United States of America (USA).
The honour is in recognition of Omenaa sustained work advancing philanthropy, education, and cultural collaboration between Africa and Europe, with her TOP CHARITY being the largest philanthropic initiative in Central and Eastern Europe.
Mensah, whose father is Ghanaian and mother Polish, becomes the first woman from outside the United States to receive the distinction in the award’s 25-year history.
Her recognition reflects both her personal journey and the broader global influence of leaders of African heritage shaping more inclusive and cross-border approaches to giving.
Accepting the award, she described it as a symbol of perseverance and responsibility, encouraging young girls who have ever been told they are not enough to keep striving.
She also stressed that success carries an obligation to uplift others and build communities that care for those in need.
For more than 12 years, Omenaa’s humanitarian efforts have reached millions. Her work has improved living conditions for over two million people, supported the rescue and education of more than 400 children in Ghana through the Kids Haven School initiative, and led to nearly 200 social projects through the Philanthropic Consortium.
Through TOP CHARITY, she has mobilised nearly PLN 150 million in just five years from entrepreneurs and partners to fund social, educational, and humanitarian causes across Europe.
Honouring Omenaa on one of the world’s most visible sporting and cultural stages underscores the growing role of global, culturally connected leadership in philanthropy.
Off The Field, the philanthropic arm of NFL players’ wives and partners, recognised her alongside other changemakers in culture, health, sports, and social activism, reinforcing the message that social impact is increasingly central to international platforms and partnerships.
