Prosperity isn't measured only by big cars and money: Kaywa challenges Prophet Nigel Gaisie

Prophet and musician Kaywa

Legendary musician Kaywa has challenged Prophet Nigel Gaisie's assertion that musicians do not experience prosperity.

Kaywa said perhaps Prophet Gaisie was speaking "based on his own setup or what he has seen in his own congregation".

A prophet himself, Kaywa highlighted that, "Prosperity is not about big cars, or big mansions. Prosperity is a vast thing. It doesn't have to do [only] with money. The Bible says you'll prosper even as your soul prospers. So, the prosperity topic is vast."

Kaywa observed the context within which Gaisie spoke.

"If you rever or respect the anointing, the anointing will help you," he repeated what his recollection of his colleague's words were, caveating, "But to extend it to say musicians are not blessed because they are not driving big cars... I believe that's not the standard. Big cars and big houses can't be the standard."

The Destiny Nation founder and leader noted he had been a musician "for all my life," having started in church since he was only five.

"By God's grace I'm approaching 50 years. And I have been in church ever since I was five years when I started playing drums in the Pentecost church. I think the pastor [Nigel Gaisie] was not looking at the broader [picture] and I think he was speaking in a certain context, and so I can't criticise him too much. But I have seen church instrumentalists who have been so immensely blessed by God," Kaywa testified.

David 'Kaywa' Kojo Kyei spoke to Taller Dee on No.1 Gospel Showbiz, a programme on No.1 105.3 FM.
