Oyibi chiefs apologise, withdraw Friday holiday declaration
The Oyibi Divisional Council has withdrawn a statement declaring Friday, 30 September 2022, a public holiday in Oyibi, Accra.
The Council, in a circular, declared the holiday for the celebration of its Yam festival.
But its Secretary, Mr Enoch Alabi Nyomowoko, in a subsequent statement, said: “I wish to apologise to the entire citizens living in any part of Oyibi and the general public for releasing such communiqué and I seek that such information should be disregarded.”
