Interior Minister joins President Mahama at WASSA 2025
The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka, on Friday joined the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, President John Dramani Mahama, at the West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) 2025 event, where key infrastructure projects and logistical support initiatives for the military were unveiled.
As part of the ceremony, President Mahama cut the sod for new military accommodation projects and opened a fleet of vehicles aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and welfare of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The event brought together top government and military officials, including the Acting Minister for Defence and Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson; Deputy Defence Minister, Mr Brogya Gyamfi; the Chief of Defence Staff; senior military officers; and other distinguished guests.
The initiatives, according to officials, form part of the government’s broader agenda to improve living conditions for military personnel and strengthen national security through enhanced logistics and infrastructure.
WASSA, an annual social and cultural event within the Ghana Armed Forces, provides a platform for fostering unity, morale and cooperation among soldiers and officers, while also showcasing government commitment to the welfare of security personnel.
The presence of President Mahama and senior government officials underscored the administration’s resolve to prioritise the needs of the Armed Forces as they continue to play a critical role in safeguarding Ghana’s peace and stability.
