Kumadoe applauds IGP Yohonu for promoting 12,802 officers after decade-long delay
Strategic leadership and fraud prevention expert, Richard Kumadoe, has commended the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohonu, for overseeing the promotion of 12,802 police officers — a process he says was long overdue.
According to Kumadoe, the promotions, which should have been effected about ten years ago, mark a significant step toward restoring morale and fairness within the Ghana Police Service.
Speaking on Accra FM News, Kumadoe noted that he has closely monitored Ghana’s security landscape for over two decades and can confidently say that the current IGP has demonstrated commendable leadership. He stressed that timely promotions are crucial in maintaining discipline, motivation, and professionalism within the service.
He further explained that delayed promotions often create frustration among officers, which can negatively impact productivity and public confidence in law enforcement.
By addressing the backlog, Kumadoe believes IGP Yohonu has sent a strong signal that hard work and dedication will be recognised under his administration.
Kumadoe concluded by urging continuous reforms within the security sector to ensure efficiency and accountability. He expressed optimism that the IGP’s actions will strengthen institutional integrity and enhance public trust in the Ghana Police Service.
