President Mahama suspends all activities after helicopter crash

President John Dramani Mahama has suspended all official activities and programmes for the remainder of the week in response to a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a press statement issued by the Presidency, the government described the incident as a national tragedy and announced a three-day period of national mourning beginning Thursday, August 7, 2025.

As part of the mourning protocols, the Chief of Staff has directed that all national flags be flown at half-mast until further notice.

The government has expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased and called for national unity during this period of grief.
