W/R: Police arrest suspect, retrieve guns, machetes after Simpa rival groups clash

The Western Central Regional Police Command has successfully arrested suspect Daniel Cudjoe, alias Ato Asare.
The arrested followed a violent incident that occurred on September 28, 2025, at Simpa, near the Simpa Sawmill, in the Nsuaem District.
Police said on said date, they received a distress call reporting an armed confrontation between two rival groups - one led by suspect Daniel Cudjoe, alias Kwame Ato Asare, and the other from Dadwen, led by suspects Alhassan, and one Abolo, now at large.
Preliminary investigations indicated that suspect Daniel Cudjoe, alias Ato Asare, 25, together with his deceased brother Emmanuel Cudjoe, 23, and 10 others, now at large, confronted the Dadwen group after receiving information that the Dadwen group, led by suspects Alhassan and Abolo, had destroyed his mining equipment at a mining site.
The confrontation escalated into exchange of gunfire, resulting in the death of Emmanuel Cudjoe.
According to police, exhibits retrieved from the scene included; two pump-action guns, three machetes, four motorbikes, one tri-cycle and one regalia.
"The Police Command assures the general public that investigations are ongoing to arrest all persons involved to face the full rigours of the law," a police statement said.
