YEA warns public against fake Facebook page targeting job seekers
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has issued a public alert over a fraudulent Facebook page impersonating the agency with the aim of defrauding unsuspecting Ghanaians, particularly job seekers.
In a statement released by its Corporate Affairs Directorate, the agency cautioned that the fake page has no affiliation whatsoever with the official YEA and urged the public to disregard any information or demands emanating from it.
YEA stressed that it does not charge any fees—whether through mobile money or any other payment method—before, during, or after its recruitment, job placement, or skills training programmes.
All legitimate recruitment processes, the agency noted, are provided free of charge.
According to the agency, all official announcements and application procedures are communicated solely through its verified communication channels, including its official website and certified social media accounts.
The statement further called on the public to report and block the fake page to help protect potential applicants from falling victim to online fraud schemes.
The Youth Employment Agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity, and public trust in all its operations.
