Police arrest woman captured in viral video assaulting man
The Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has arrested a woman captured in a viral video assaulting a man, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed.
The arrest was carried out on Wednesday, 27th November 2025.
The suspect, identified as Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, was picked up at Subriso in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
A second suspect, Stephen Ofori, was also arrested at Nkawie, also in the Ashanti Region, for his alleged role in the incident.
According to police officials, both suspects are currently in custody, while a search is underway for three additional suspects who are still on the run.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the assault are brought to justice, urging the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
