Thomas Partey officially charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been formally charged with multiple sexual offences by the Metropolitan Police, following a directive from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
In a statement released on Thursday, the CPS confirmed that it had authorised the charges after reviewing a file of evidence submitted by detectives
“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives,” the statement read.
According to the Met Police, Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire, has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.
The high-profile case is expected to proceed to court in the coming weeks.
