Central Regional Minister calls on Education Ministry for feeding support for BECE candidates
Central Regional Minister Ekow Panyin Eduamoa Okyere has appealed to the Ministry of Education Ghana to introduce feeding for candidates sitting the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Speaking during a tour of examination centres in the Central Region, the Minister urged government and the Ghana School Feeding Programme Secretariat to provide meals for candidates nationwide.
He said some students experience discomfort during exams due to what they eat beforehand, with reports of candidates falling ill or vomiting in the examination hall.
He advised candidates to remain focused on their studies and avoid examination malpractice.
Some candidates who spoke after their papers said the exams went well and were less difficult than expected, expressing confidence in their performance.
