The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has advised students, staff and members of the public to avoid several flooded sections of its campus following heavy rainfall on Friday, June 19, 2026.

In a public notice issued by its Directorate of Public Affairs, the university said the downpour caused flooding in parts of the campus and nearby communities, creating safety concerns and affecting movement.

The affected areas include Avenue Circle (Science Roundabout), the Zenith Bank area, the rear of the Sandwich Lecture Theatre, Ayensu and sections of Sasakawa Road.

UCC urged members of the university community and the public to stay away from the affected locations until floodwaters subside.

The university's advisory follows heavy rains that have affected parts of the country, with flooding reported in several communities during the major rainy season.
