Vice President H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has held a strategic meeting with Jacob’s Foundation, an organisation dedicated to advancing foundational education in Ghana.

The engagement brought together the Chair, Board, and Management of the Foundation, alongside the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abasinaab Apaak.

During the meeting, Jacob’s Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government through impactful initiatives, highlighting the SCALE (System Change Architecture for Learning Excellence) programme.

Launched in mid-2025 in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Global Partnership for Education, SCALE is an $80 million multi-stakeholder initiative designed to reach two million children, train teachers, and implement differentiated learning approaches in 15,000 schools.

The programme also seeks to expand the reach and impact of the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP).

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the importance of reviewing ongoing educational initiatives to ensure decisions are data-driven and future-focused.

She noted that foundational learning remains a critical pillar of national development and must be aligned with relevance and quality to prepare Ghana’s youth for leadership and innovation.

The Vice President further underscored the significance of structured partnerships, stating that collaborations must be regularly assessed and integrated into long-term planning frameworks to deliver sustainable and meaningful outcomes.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore their full potential,” she said.

“Our investments in education must produce results that match expectations and deliver tangible impact.

We must remain deeply engaged in what happens in our classrooms and in the role of those facilitating the learning process.”

The meeting highlights the government’s continued focus on strengthening foundational education through strategic partnerships and evidence-based programmes, aimed at improving learning outcomes across the country.
