Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, held a high-level engagement with leading figures from Ghana’s private sector at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, as part of efforts to deepen collaboration between traditional leadership and the business community.
The meeting brought together prominent entrepreneurs and corporate executives, including Thomas Svanikier, founder of Svani Group and co-founder of Fidelity Bank; Kofi Amoa-Abban, Group Chief Executive Officer of Rigworld Group; Joana Gyan Cudjoe, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Empire Legacy Limited; Philip Tieku, Chief Executive Officer of Star Oil; and Daniel McKorley, founder of the McDan Group.
The engagement provided a platform for discussions on private sector–led development, investment opportunities and strategies for accelerating economic growth, particularly in areas that can create jobs and support sustainable development. Participants exchanged views on how traditional institutions and the private sector can work together to promote entrepreneurship, industrialisation and social development across the country.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II underscored the importance of a strong and vibrant private sector in national development and reaffirmed the Asante Kingdom’s readiness to support initiatives that drive innovation, value creation and inclusive economic growth.
