Overturned gas tanker causes major disruption at Darkuman

A gas tanker has overturned near the Cable and Wireless intersection at Darkuman.
The incident occurred on Friday, 27 September 2024, sparking major disruption and raising concerns of a potential explosion.
The cause of the accident remains unclear, but the busy intersection has been cordoned off as emergency services respond.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly deployed officers to the scene, where they are currently working to cool the tanker and avert any possible ignition.
According to the GNFS, their top priority is to prevent the highly flammable gas from igniting.
Motorists and residents are being urged to steer clear of the area until the situation is brought under control.
Traffic has been diverted, and authorities have issued strong warnings for commuters to avoid the area for their own safety.
