YEA graduates final batch of over 5,000 Prison Service Assistants
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in partnership with the Ghana Prisons Service, has successfully graduated the third and final batch of over 5,000 Prison Service Assistants at a ceremony held at the Prison Officers Training School in Fumso.
The event marks the completion of a nationwide initiative aimed at empowering young Ghanaians with employable skills while strengthening the operational capacity of the Ghana Prisons Service.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Mr. Abubakari Saana Abdul-Kudus, who represented the Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Malik Basintale.
In his remarks, Mr. Abdul-Kudus commended the graduates for their dedication throughout the training programme and reaffirmed YEA’s commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.
The newly trained Prison Service Assistants will be immediately deployed across the country to assist in key areas, including security, inmate rehabilitation, and public safety.
This initiative forms part of YEA’s broader mandate to transform potential into purpose, offering Ghanaian youth dignified career pathways through strategic collaborations with state institutions.
