Stanbic Bank donates to Ho Teaching Hospital

Stanbic Bank Ghana has donated office equipment worth GHS120,000 to the Medical Tourism Coordinating Office of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH).

The items, which include a 4-in-1 workstation, six swivel chairs, two 1.5HP air conditioners, one metal cabinet, two printers, two desktop computers, and one laptop computer, are to help set up the office.

The office will operate as a one-stop-shop unit that bridges high quality healthcare with smooth travel logistics for clients, ensuring that they received safe and affordable treatment while experiencing Ghana’s hospitality and culture.

Mawuko Afadzinu, Head, Brand and Marketing, Stanbic Bank, who presented the items to the hospital, said the bank believed that healthcare was not just a service, but a foundation for growth and that supporting health and wellness was a core part of their community investment strategy.

He described the setting up of a medical tourism centre as a bold step that would position the hospital as a regional leader in specialised care and that donating the equipment would help bring that vision to life.

"Ho Teaching Hospital is already a pillar in this region, and with this new centre, it has the potential to attract medical tourists, expand access to care, and raise the standard of healthcare delivery," he remarked.

"Better infrastructure leads to better service, and better service leads to better outcomes for the people who matter most; the patients," he underlined.

Mr Afadzinu said the donation was not a one-off gesture, but part of a broader, long-term commitment to supporting institutions that uplifted lives, strengthened communities, and moved the nation forward.

"To the leadership and staff of Ho Teaching Hospital, thank you for your unwavering dedication and service. Your commitment inspires us, and we’re proud to walk this path with you. We believe this partnership will spark lasting change, and we look forward to witnessing the positive impact it brings to the people of the Volta Region and beyond," he added.

George Tetteh, Director of Administration, Ho Teaching Hospital, who received the items on behalf of the CEO, expressed appreciation to Stanbic Bank for the gesture.

He said the hospital remained committed to its goal of becoming the prime medical tourism destination in the sub-region and called for support from all.

Mr Tetteh said the medical tourism office would soon open a music therapy studio to enhance the hospital's wellness tourism offerings.

The team later toured the hospital's meditation garden, which houses the medical tourism coordinating office.
