#2024Polls: Bagbin congratulates Mahama

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban S. K. Bagbin, has offered his sincere congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama following his resounding victory in last Saturday’s election.
A statement from the Speaker of Parliament’s office expressed admiration for the confidence placed in Mr Mahama, describing it as a reflection of the courage shown by the Ghanaian people.
It further emphasised that Mahama’s win was a reaffirmation of the country’s democratic values.
“Today, we celebrate not just a victory, but a reaffirmation of our democratic principles,” the statement noted.
It continued that: “John Mahama’s win is a clear expression of the will of the people, and I am confident he will steer Ghana towards greater prosperity and inclusivity.”
The Speaker also called on all Ghanaians to rally behind the newly elected president in the task of nation-building.
“It is now our collective responsibility to support him in the task of nation-building. Together, we can work towards addressing the challenges that lie ahead and ensure that every citizen feels the benefits of good governance,” the statement added.
