GA/R: Residents of Nungua blast MP for sleeping on the job
Residents of Nungua in the Greater Accra Region have criticised their Member of Parliament, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, accusing her of failing to deliver on key campaign promises and neglecting pressing development needs in the constituency.
The constituents expressed their concerns during interviews with Accra 100.5 FM news on Wednesday June 10, citing poor road networks, inadequate drainage systems, unemployment among the youth, and a lack of visible development projects as evidence of what they described as the MP's poor performance since assuming office.
According to some residents, they had high expectations following her election but are disappointed by what they perceive as limited engagement and slow progress on issues affecting their communities.
"We voted for her because we believed she would bring development to Nungua, but we have not seen much change.
The roads are still bad, and many of the problems we complained about during the campaign remain unresolved," a resident lamented.
Others accused the MP of being inaccessible and failing to maintain regular contact with constituents to understand their concerns and provide updates on efforts being made on their behalf.
Several traders and youth in the area also called for urgent interventions to improve economic opportunities and social amenities, arguing that the constituency has been left behind despite its strategic location within the capital.
The residents appealed to the MP to increase her engagement with the community and work closely with local leaders to address the challenges confronting the area.
