Lands Minister unveils classroom block at Nkroful, inspects Esiama market project
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has inaugurateded a newly constructed six-unit classroom block for Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
The classroom facility, financed through the Member of Parliament’s Common Fund, is expected to provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning while addressing infrastructure challenges facing the school.
Speaking during the opening ceremony at Nkroful, the Minister reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational development and improving learning conditions for students in the constituency.
Following the opening, Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah inspected the ongoing construction of a modern market complex at Esiama, a project aimed at boosting commercial activities and improving trading conditions in the area.
The market facility comprises 76 shops, 11 office spaces, and two large sheds with partitioned areas designated for petty traders.
The project is being funded by the Ghana National Gas Company and executed by Macwest Limited.
Construction commenced in October 2025 and is scheduled for completion by the end of September 2026.
Upon completion, the market is expected to serve as a major commercial centre for Esiama and surrounding communities, providing traders with modern facilities and creating opportunities for increased economic activity.
The Minister noted that the project forms part of broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and stimulate local economic growth across the district.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and urged the contractors to maintain quality standards and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
