Ministry of Finance's official bungalow sold to Asante Bediatuo

The government has initiated steps to reclaim an official two-story bungalow sitting on some acreage belonging to the Ministry of Finance that was controversially sold to Mr. Asante Bediatuo, former Executive Secretary to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to sources within the Ministry, the property was sold to Mr. Bediatuo—who is also a lawyer and cousin to the former President—at what has been described as a "paltry amount".
Though sources confirm that full payment was made for the bungalow, the current administration has refused to recognise the transaction, insisting that the property be returned to the state.
“The Ministry has taken a firm position on the matter,” a source told Classfmonline.com.
“Despite the completion of payment, the building is to revert to government ownership.”
The move is seen as part of a broader effort by the current administration to review and possibly reverse questionable transactions involving state properties under the previous government as part of Operation Recover All Loot(ORAL).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice & Attorney General Department (MOJAGD) has announced an upcoming major briefing on the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).
The briefing is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11 PM, the venue being the Information Services Department.
Dr Dominic A. Ayine is the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, who will be addressing the audience for the briefing.
ORAL is an accountability initiative by the John Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) to recover public funds misappropriated by former government officials. According to President Mahama, when recovered, the funds will be put into appropriate and productive ventures for the nation's benefit
