Volta Regional Minister, Volta Caucus Chair lead inspection of development projects under ‘Big Push’ programme
The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, together with the Chairman of the Volta Caucus in Parliament, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, and the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr. Edem Agbana, have toured several project sites across the Volta Region to assess the progress of key government interventions under the “Big Push” Programme.
The inspection exercise, conducted on Monday, formed part of efforts to monitor ongoing infrastructure works and ensure the timely delivery of projects aimed at accelerating development in the region.
The delegation visited multiple sites, where contractors briefed them on the status of work and timelines for completion.
The projects are expected to improve road networks, public facilities, and overall socio-economic conditions in beneficiary communities.
Speaking during the tour, the leaders expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable development across all regions.
They noted that under President John Dramani Mahama’s development agenda, significant construction and infrastructure activities are underway nationwide, with the Volta Region receiving a fair share of the investments.
According to them, the “Big Push” Programme is designed to fast-track critical projects, create jobs, and stimulate local economic growth.
The team urged contractors to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines to ensure communities begin to benefit from the projects as scheduled.
