FIFA WC 2026: Prince Tagoe backs Black Stars to escape 'tough' Group L
Former Ghana international Prince Tagoe has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ ability to progress from their group at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite the challenges posed by their opponents.
“None of the countries are easy to beat at the World Cup. We just have to focus on ourselves and ensure we take it game after game at the tournament,” Tagoe said.
The former striker, however, remains optimistic about Ghana’s prospects in the group, insisting the team has what it takes to secure qualification to the knockout stage.
“For me, it is easy for us to get five or six points to make it out of our group,” the former Black Stars player added.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside England, Panama and Croatia, with the Black Stars set to open their campaign against Panama before facing England and Croatia. Tagoe’s comments add to growing confidence among former players and fans as Ghana builds up to its fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup.
