Kofi Adams dismisses reports of Thomas Partey being denied Canada Visa
Ghana's Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has stated that he is unaware of reports suggesting that Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has been denied a visa to Canada over alleged rape accusations.
Speaking on the matter on the PM Express program aired on JoySport, the Minister said he had not received any official communication regarding any visa denial involving the player.
"I am not aware that Thomas Partey has been denied a visa to Canada," Adams said. "I know that there were some challenges concerning his previous visa to the United States, but he eventually obtained a visa and was able to enter the country."
The Minister explained that if any issues had arisen concerning Partey's travel documents, he did not believe such information would necessarily be communicated directly to him in his capacity as Sports Minister.
"Not that I am aware of. I don't think that if anything of that sort had happened, it would have been communicated to me as Minister for Sports and Recreation. I have not received any such communication," he stated.
Adams further revealed that he has remained in contact with the Ghana Football Association and the player's management team, who are currently in the United States, and none of them have raised concerns about a visa denial.
"I have been in touch with the Ghana Football Association and the management team, who are currently in the United States. I have not heard anything regarding Thomas Partey being denied a visa," he added.
The Minister's remarks come amid widespread speculation on social media that the former Arsenal F.C. midfielder had encountered visa difficulties ahead of a potential trip to Canada. However, no official confirmation of such claims has been provided by either the player, his representatives, or relevant authorities.
