Tanzania holds Black Queens to a goalless draw in final WAFCON warm-up
Ghana’s Black Queens couldn’t find the net as they played out a goalless draw with Tanzania in Casablanca on Monday.
The friendly was part of Ghana’s final preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Queens dominated possession and created clearer chances, especially in the first half.
They moved the ball well and pushed Tanzania’s defense but the final finish was missing.
After halftime, Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren rotated his squad, using the game to test different players and combinations ahead of the tournament.
Ghana kept pressing for a winner but a disciplined Tanzanian backline held firm to shut out the Queens.
While the 0-0 result won’t excite the scoreboard, the technical team got exactly what they needed; more minutes in the legs, tactical tweaks and a chance to assess the squad before WAFCON kicks off.
