Residents of Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti region have bemoaned poor health care delivery at the Nyinahin Government Hospital after the only medical Doctor was transferred.

The residents say for about two weeks now, since the doctor, Kennedy Asante was transferred, the vacancy has not been filled forcing the hospital administration to refer cases to other district hospitals.

Some of the referred patients were said to have died on their way, a situation which the residents say could have been averted.

They have therefore given a three-day ultimatum to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) to post a new doctor or bring back the transferred doctor, else they will stage a demonstration.

Briefing a press conference on Friday, January 12, 2018 was the committee chairman for Otaakrom electoral area within Nyinahin, Mr Phillip Kwabena Nyame who expressed worry about the current health care delivery at the hospital which has impacted negatively on its patients due to the development .

He said the facility has been the only government hospital in the Atwima Mponua District which serves about 517 communities.

He said the transferred Doctor did tremendously good that brought transformation and uplifting to the hospital and could not phantom why he has been transferred.

He, therefore, appealed to the member of parliament for the area and District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah and Mr William Darko respectively to intervene in the matter and see to it that, a new medical Doctor is posted to the hospital or bring back Dr Kennedy Asante.
