Head coach of the Black Satellites of Ghana, Jimmy Cobblah has expressed confidence his lads will qualify from their group as they prepare to play in their opening game against Niger in the West Africa Football Union U20 Zone B Cup hosted in Togo.

Ghana will play Niger on Friday, 7 December 2018 at the Municipal Stadium in Lome.

The former Inter Allies trainer said despite being drawn in a difficult group against Benin, Niger and Nigeria, his team has the wherewithal to progression to the last four of the sub-regional competition.

“I believe we are in a very tough group because Nigeria when it comes to youth football, once you are in the game, nobody can tell you the sort of opposition they can give any country in the world. When you talk of Niger, because they are coming to host U20 AFCON, they have prepared so well. Benin came to Ghana and they surprised us. We are in a difficult group but will do well to come out,” Cobblah told journalists.

The Black Satellites made up all local based players are using the WAFU Cup as preparatory grounds for the upcoming Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Niger next year.

The WAFU Cup begins today, 6 December to 16 December 2018.
