The Ranking Member of the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, Adam Mutawakilu, has called on the leadership of the House to summon the Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Isaac Osei before the chamber.

The MP wants Mr Osei hauled before the House over what he describes as gross disrespect he has shown to members of the committee.

Mr Mutawakilu said the CEO, together with the top management of TOR, have failed to honour their numerous invitations to appear before them to answer questions relating to their financial status and alleged dealings which have cost the oil refinery and the state huge sums of revenue.

Speaking to Class News, Mr Mutawakilu said they will be compelled to invoke the Standing Orders to forcibly drag the CEO before the committee if he again fails to honour their invitation.

The Institute for Energy Security (IES) had accused the state-owned refinery of causing some $24 million financial loss to the state.

The loss, according to IES, was occasioned by a bad Sale and Purchase Agreement between TOR and British Petroleum.

But the management of TOR has described the allegations as false.
