The Accra-West Rotary Club in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Dallas, Texas, has organised a free dental screening exercise for the people of La.

It took place at the La General Hospital on Thursday, 10 January 2019, and was attended by over 300 people.

Beneficiaries were offered healthcare services such as general teeth examination, tooth extraction, tooth alignment and tooth cleaning.

In an interview with ClassFMonline.com, Henry Kom, President of the Rotary Club of Accra-West said the purpose of the exercise was to help people take care of their dental hygiene.

Mr Quarshie also urged the beneficiaries and the general public to observe good dental hygiene.

He said: “It’s very important that you take care of your teeth so they last you a lifetime. You know, the essence of observing good dental hygiene: your teeth must last you a lifetime so you can use them properly. So, we encourage, especially parents, to help their children, teach them how to use the toothbrush properly, how to clean their teeth, and then how many times they should do it. At least, we recommend twice a day before you go to bed and then right when you wake up, but in between, we also advice if you can, then you can brush your teeth.”

Participants went home with toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwashes to enable them maintain good dental hygiene.
