Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday, 2 April 2019, on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, swore into office Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Takoradi, as Western Regional Minister.

Dr Bawumia expressed the confidence of Nana Akufo-Addo in the minister and charged him to deliver in office and make the development of the Western Region his main preoccupation.

Mr Darko-Mensah was appointed to replace Dr Kwaku Afriyie in the president’s most recent ministerial reshuffle in February 2019.

Before his new appointment, Mr Darko-Mensah was the Deputy Minister of Aviation.
