The Criminal Court 5 Division of the Accra High Court presided over by Justice George Boadi has stayed its proceedings in the trial of Daniel Asiedu, alias ‘Sexy Don Don’ and his accomplice, Vincent Bossu, who are the first and second accused persons, respectively, in the murder case of the former Abuakwa North legislator, Mr J.B. Danquah-Adu Jr., so that the prime suspect could go through thorough psychiatric examination at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The court has, accordingly directed the Registry to officially write to notify the hospital’s administration of its directive.

The decision by the court on Monday, 15 April 2019, became necessary following the incoherence of, and unrealistic demands by Mr Asiedu.

Class91.3FM's Ibrahim Obeng-Mensah, who covered the hearing on Monday, said the judge directed the psychiatric hospital to make its certified report ready in a month’s time.

The judge also ordered the Ghana Prisons Service to ensure that the first accused person is available for the examination anytime the hospital requires his presence.

The case has since been adjourned to 3 June 2019.

J.B. Danquah-Adu Jr. was killed in his Shiashie home three years ago on 9 February 2016.
