As part of its comprehensive approach and commitment to enhancing the lives of Ghanaians and people within the communities in which they operate, Somotex Ghana Limited on 12 May 2019 shared dined with vulnerable mothers and female patients of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to mark Mother’s Day.

The company says love, care, understanding and peace have been in short supply to mental patients and their families, hence the gesture.

“Our aim is geared towards providing the necessary support and to assist the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to become the leading psychiatric institution in Ghana and West Africa through best practices in psychiatric care, with a dedicated workforce and friendly environment for clients”, said Nii Ayi Hyde, the Managing Director of Somotex Ghana Limited.

Speaking in the same vein, the Marketing Manager of Somotex, Mr Frank Mickson-Yeboah, said: “We have constantly evolved to attain distinction since our inception in 1986 with continuous innovation across the commercial air-conditioning sector and consumer electronics. Our strategic intent for the past three decades has employed a ‘first-mover’ advantage strategy by positioning Somotex as a leader in the assembling and distribution of consumer electronics in Ghana.

“Our humanitarian and environmental concerns have seen Somotex Ghana Limited, in partnership with its affiliate Mohinani Group, launch a Recycling and Waste Management Campaign & Competition across Ghana to educate and sensitise citizens and the younger generation on proper waste management and disposal to promote a safe and healthy environment for all. The competition has seen the Group, in partnership with Environment 360, educate over 30,000 students across 70 schools on recycling and waste management.

“We are poised to leverage our strong network of operating units, redistribution channels, retail outlets, shops, QSRs and aftersales team with the aim of caring and delighting our customers/clients. We are fully committed to delighting our shoppers and customers with resourceful products and technologies," said Mr Mickson-Yeboah, the Marketing Manager. "The next-level of customer service which represents a new era in aftersales service has been key to our growth and success over the past 3 decades.”

In 2018, the company was adjudged the Electronics Company of the Year by the Ghana Business Awards owing to a number of successful corporate social responsibility programmes involving giving back to the host communities. Electromart, the retail arm of Somotex, is a 3-time CIMG Award recipient for Best Electronics Retail outlet of the year 2015, 2016 and 2017, with 20 Electromart showrooms and 4 world-class service centres across Ghana.
