An MP-hopeful for the Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Elvis Asiedu Antwi, has donated toiletries, detergents and 10 bags cements to the Kokrobite Health Centre in the Ga South municipality.

The clinic, built by a Rotary Club member some 16 years ago, is manned by a senior physician assistant and some nurses.

Mr Asiedu Antwi said he decided to help after seeing how deplorable the facility was during his tour of the area last year.

“In life, we need to be each other’s keeper. I believe in reaching out to those down the ladder. If God has helped us, it’s only prudent that we also reach out and give life to those who need it. I’ll encourage those in privileged positions to also emulate this gesture and help make our various communities better,” he told Class91.3FM’s Ekow Annan during the donation in the company of musicians Kwabena Kwabena and Afriyie Wutah of the group Wutah, who are part of his campaign team.

He added: “As you know, the Kokrobite Health facility lacks certain equipment and consumables crucial to the effective discharge of healthcare. Lack of space has been a challenge to the smooth discharge of duties. Hence, I promised to support them construct a new ward to take care of community members who hitherto, were being treated on the floor,” he said.

He assured the residents that he will continue to support the facility to enable it to deliver quality healthcare to the people.

Afriyie Wutah and Kwabena Kwabena also lauded the contributions of Mr Asiedu Antwi to their respective careers. They said the hospital will not lack essential commodities now that it has become the project of Mr Asiedu Antwi.

The Senior Physician Assistant in charge of the Kokrobite Heath Centre, Mr Jerry Nunoo, who expressed gratitude to Mr Antwi for the kind gesture, promised that the items will be put to judicious use.

Mr Nunoo called for more assistance for the health facility. He revealed that the facility needs a maternity block, generator and delivery beds.
