Advisor on mines meets LBMA reps on mining issues in Ghana
The Advisor on Mines to the Minister, Mr. Benjamin Aryee has on Monday, 27th May, 2024 met some London Bullion Market Association Representatives to discuss responsible Small Scale Mining in Ghana and conscious efforts being made by government to rid the industry of illegalities.
The Meeting among many other pertinent issues discussed, challenges in the fight against illegal Small Scale Mining, mining exploration rights, Community Mining Scheme, and measures to ensure responsible mining through a legal structure approved by the LBMA with focus on four African countries including Ghana.
The team which has already visited the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), will also pay similar visits to the Minerals Commission and the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) to hold similar engagements with the hope that these engagements will help them better understand and appreciate Ghana’s Mining Industry.
