Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia today, Tuesday, 2 March 2021, met and engaged the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA), Mr Wamkele Keabetswe Mene at the Jubilee House.
Among other things, the two gentlemen deliberated on the unique opportunities that AFCFTA offers the continent to prioritise development in Africa.
“With AFCFTA we are better positioned to leverage digital technology for Pan-African Payment and Settlement Systems,” Dr Bawumia said.
“The advantages of such transcontinental payment platforms and interoperability cannot be over-emphasised and I look forward to that within the shortest time,” he added.
