BoG sets June 2026 deadline for DCS providers to regularise operations
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has announced that it will begin accepting applications from entities seeking to operate as Digital Credit Services Providers starting Monday, November 3, 2025.
According to a public notice issued by the Bank, all existing mobile loan applications and digital credit services providers currently operating without a license are required to regularise their operations with the central bank.
Such entities have been given until June 30, 2026, to submit the necessary documentation and meet all licensing requirements.
The Bank cautioned that failure to comply with the directives will attract appropriate regulatory action against non-compliant operators.
The notice, signed by Aimee Vyda Quashie, Acting Secretary of the Bank of Ghana, emphasised the regulator’s commitment to ensuring that all financial technology and credit service providers operate within a sound and transparent regulatory framework.
Entities seeking further information on the licensing process have been directed to contact the Bank’s FinTech and Innovation Office at its headquarters in Accra or visit its official website.
