The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, has announced the rollout of a new Temporary Registration Number Sticker aimed at addressing a growing gap in vehicle regulation.

According to Mr. Kotey, the initiative targets private citizens who are neither fleet owners nor car dealers but still wish to operate unregistered vehicles for a limited period.

He explained that the temporary sticker will provide a lawful alternative for such individuals while ensuring that all vehicles on the road remain identifiable under national traffic regulations.

The DVLA CEO noted that the measure is part of broader efforts to improve compliance, enhance road safety, and modernise vehicle identification processes across the country.

He said the Particular Identification Number plate has also been introduced for people who are easily identified, like traditional leaders, among others

He warned that this is not Surname registration

Authority is expected to release further details on eligibility, application procedures, and the duration of validity for the temporary sticker in the coming days.
