EBID opens first regional representative office in Abidjan
The Chairman of the Board of Governors of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Ghana's Minister for Finance has inaugurated the Bank’s maiden Regional Representative Office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s expansion and regional integration drive.
The new office is expected to strengthen EBID’s presence across the sub-region, enhance project monitoring, deepen stakeholder engagement, and accelerate investment flows into member states.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Forson described the development as “a landmark step in our collective effort to deepen regional investment, integration, and opportunity for all.”
He noted that establishing the Abidjan office reflects EBID’s renewed commitment to bringing development finance closer to the communities and businesses it serves.
The expansion is part of the Bank’s broader strategy to boost economic cooperation, support infrastructure development, and enhance access to financing for both public and private sector projects within the ECOWAS region.
The Abidjan office becomes EBID’s first in-country representative outlet, symbolising a new chapter in its mission to promote sustainable growth and stronger economic ties across West Africa.
