Mrs Akufo-Addo gave the praise when she joined officials of Gold Fields West Africa, government officials and traditional elders of Prestea Huni Valley and Tarkwa Nsuem in the Western Region to open the new Huni Valley Health Centre.
The centre, which serves the people in the Prestea-Huni Valley and Tarkwa Nsuaem municipalities, was renovated and refurbished with modern medical equipment by the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, as part of its corporate social responsibilities.
In a brief address, Mrs Akufo-Addo expressed delight that Gold Fields had shown interest in the health sector, especially in helping women and children.

Mrs Akufo-Addo said she was optimistic that The Rebecca Foundation and Gold Fields could partner to address key issues of health, education and economic empowerment of women.
